Graphic Workshop has been a shareware favorite for years. Now, it's time to make room on your hard drive for its big brother. Graphic Workshop Professional is a 32-bit image-management package that offers multiple browser windows, batch processing, drag-and-drop, thumbnails, and Pentium-optimized functionality. It converts, prints, views, dithers, captions, transforms, flips, rotates, scales, crops, color-adjusts, scans, quantizes, catalogs, and performs special effects on nearly every type of image file out there. Support is also provided for multimedia formats such as .avi, .mov, .wav, .mpg, and .mid. Other features include directory tree displays in its browser windows; Johnson-Grace ART file support to handle ART files from AOL; deletion of files to the Recycle Bin; a mystery file identifier; a thumbnail database; captioning; and high-resolution thumbnail printing. You'll also find .exe picture configuration; Windows screen saver creation; the ability to look for graphics, icons, text, and sounds in Windows executables and libraries; a function that changes your Windows wallpaper and screen saver periodically; a simple GIF animator based on Alchemy Mindworks' GIF Construction Set software; and the ability to create your own Windows startup and shutdown screens.
